Skin & Beauty Center was proud to support the Pasadena community through a Free Skin Cancer Screening held at the South Pasadena Senior Center. The event was led by Dr. William Shipman III, MD, PhD, a nationally recognized, board-certified dermatologist and researcher based out of our Pasadena location.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the health and well-being of our community, this outreach initiative offered non-invasive skin checks designed to detect suspicious moles or lesions early—when treatment outcomes are most successful. The program was especially beneficial for seniors, who often face an increased risk of skin cancer due to cumulative sun exposure and age-related changes in the skin.
In addition to the screenings, attendees received educational materials on sun safety, skin protection, and the importance of early detection, empowering them to take proactive steps toward maintaining healthy skin.
At Skin & Beauty Center, we believe caring for our community goes far beyond our clinic walls. Events like this reflect our mission to make expert dermatologic care accessible, educational, and preventative. Dr. Shipman’s dual expertise in clinical dermatology and research spanning skin of color, wound healing, and autoimmune skin diseases ensures every patient receives compassionate, evidence-based care.
By partnering with local organizations and engaging directly with the public, we aim to build a healthier, more informed community one skin check at a time.
